Katsina Govt Holds Youth-Government Unity Summit

The Katsina State Ministry of Youth and Sports has organised a grand summit aimed at strengthening understanding and cooperation between the government and youths to promote peace, unity, and development across the state.

The event, held on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at the State Secretariat Conference Hall, was themed “Appreciating Government Policies from the Youth Perspective.” It brought together youth groups from across Katsina State.

According to reports, the objective of the summit was to deepen collaboration between the government and youths and to encourage young people to support state policies and initiatives, especially in education, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.

Governor Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, who was represented by his Deputy, Malam Faruk Lawal Jobe (Sarkin Fulani Jobe Katsina), commended youth organisations for their continuous support and partnership with the government. He highlighted the administration’s achievements in empowering youths through scholarships, business grants, and political appointments.

Earlier, the Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Engr. Surajo Yazid Abukur, reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing policies that promote youth development across various sectors. He praised the youths for their cooperation, noting that their unity and support have contributed significantly to peace and progress in the state.

Also present at the event were the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth Affairs, Hon. Abubakar Tsanni, Engr. Mutakka Rabe Darma, Dr. Bishir Usman Ruwan Godiya, directors of the ministry, and youth leaders from all 34 local government areas.

Participants expressed delight with the summit, acknowledging the government’s continued attention and investment in youth development across Katsina State.
